Minimal probability of failure

Deltares investigated whether the DMC could fail. They considered the probability that the DMC could fail by not draining water away promptly or not draining enough water away, for any reason.

The conclusion was that this could happen once in 200 years. The probability of such a failure occurring at the same time as high water or any other unusual circumstances that could lead to a dike breach is many times smaller.
