Investigation

The installation begins with an investigation of the dike, involving an analysis of its structure. In particular the ground under the dike as well as the clay and soil layers in the dike itself.

The analysis begins with retrieving historical information on the installation and any adjustments. We also conduct a soil survey to scan the dike, as it were. We measure things such as the permeability (k value) and particle size of the soil. We also assess the capacity and area of influence of the water extraction. By combining all this information, we identify the dike’s weak points.
